1. Extra people. If you need to bring someone who's not in the band, make sure they're really necessary...
2. New Strings. Put them on before you get here.
3. Practice with a click-track. (Not just the drummers.)
4. Be prepared to play the song by yourself, without your other band members.
5. Rehearse tunes and have them down! You would be surprised how often people waste time by arguing over how the song is played.
6. Bring along some CD's that impress you sonically. This will help with the mixing process.
7. Cell Phones. Please don't bring them inside. I promise that your life can and will continue. Tell everyone that you are at the studio... If you must have them inside you might want to turn them completely off. Cell phones will cause unwanted interference with the digital recording.
Keep in mind these are only suggestions to save you money. These are NOT rules of the studio.
We're on your time, and it is your session!
*MIXING NOTE
I like the band or artist to be in the studio when I mix the song. Keep in mind that even when you are not there, as longs as I am working on your song, it is still on your time. I prefer to have creative input from the creators while I am mixing. If you can not be there that is fine, just remember it is on your time.
